We made our annual trip to the tulip festival with Shannon's family.

The kids hate the photos and love the "rides."

I love the tulips, the friends, the photo ops, the food and the fun.

One of the highlights: we were blessed with sun breaks and NO RAIN!

The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton was today.

Andrew, Katie and I celebrated with scones and tea.

Caught!

Dan (who was working from home)

came downstairs to find me ignoring the lunch dishes and stealing

a catnap under the blanket with my little ones.

I was SO tired and cold, I ignored all that I was supposed to be doing, 

turned on the end of a movie on tv for the kids,

snuggled under the blanket and dozed for a bit.

Dan snapped a photo and said, "There's your 'picture of the day.'"

Matthew's first Little League season.

Second game was tonight.

(No photos from the first due to very cold and rainy weather).

He's doing great ~ throwing a good distance, and hitting straight from the pitcher!

Dressed up in "uniforms" for a modern day Palm Sunday parade at church.

Andrew and Katie were happy paraders (Andrew was especially joyful).

Matthew was quite serious and reserved with his palm. :)

I gather all the hampers and sort the laundry in my bathroom.

First day of Andrew's group Tae Kwon Do instruction.

He did FANTASTIC.

The excitement on his face during class matches the happiness in my heart for my little boy and his new passion.

I've never seen this side of Andrew before.

It is a joy.

I love this outfit on the Bug.

She looks so cheerful and little in it.

She chose to sit on the door step and insisted on holding the lady bug.

It's becoming her signature picture spot/prop.  

I have other preferences, but at least she's cooperating!

SO proud of Andrew today. 
He did a fantastic job at his introductory Tae Kwon Do class.
He LOVED it.
And I loved watching him feel so happy and proud of himself.

After enduring 3 straight weeks of the kids having the flu and having the flu, bronchitis and strep throat all at the same time herself (while her husband was gone most of the time), I thought Shannon deserved a little break.

I kept the girls for a while this morning so she could have some time to herself.  Katie was thrilled.
So was Andrew.   So was I, for that matter.

One of my very favorite days of the year with one of my favorite people.

Lunch & shopping with Shannon to celebrate my birthday.

(Katie did not come along, just insisted on being in the photo).

Lots of talking, delicious lunch at Claim Jumper, a new fun home store discovered, and a few fun purchases.

A perfect day.

A sweet big brother tenderly greets his little sister.
Andrew is such a sweet, sweet boy who deeply loves his family.
He cradled Katie's face in his hands when he got off the train.

The boys wave goodbye as Katie and I leave for home.
The boys will follow at 5:30 (!) am tomorrow morning on the train with Grammie.
Matthew was sad to see me go and had been giving me lots of hugs and snuggles.
I'm looking forward to being reunited with them tomorrow morning!

The weather might not feel like Spring,

but the Bug has a spring in her step.

Hopping the stepping stones in Nana's back yard on Spring Break.

Matthew carefully laid Daffodils around Dad's headstone to "decorate" it.

Katie brought her own bloom as a "flower surprise" for Grandpapa.

She spoke sweetly to him when she left the flowers...precious.

Andrew and Matthew wanted their beloved Gus & Henry to be there too.

Day 92/365

Mom and Gail flew into Portland after a week in Maui.

They arrived with a lot of laughter and funny stories.

Alvin &The Cougar and The Zipline topped the list.

I chaperoned the 1st grade field trip to the Rice NW Museum of Rocks & Minerals.

A one hour drive.

45 minutes too long.

All I can say is God Bless teachers and Bus Drivers!

I do so love Matthew's classmates though. 

First graders are precious.
