Day 280/365 ~ 2012

2012-280

Pumpkin patch day!
One of our favorite days of the year!

2012-280-17

We always start with our pumpkin pictures.  Tradition, from Matthew's first pumpkin patch visit at 5 months of age....

Love this little parcel of kids....

I love the fall colors and the beautiful backdrop of the farm grounds, so I always torture the kids with quite a few photos up front.

Then we had a little lunch.  Sausages, corn on the cob (the best!) and the favorite....

Apple Cider doughnuts! Worth the long drive themselves.

And then it's time for fun!!

The Bug perched herself on a bale of hay and it was just too good to pass up.

There was hay maze fun.

Shannon was Andrew's "Buddy" for the day.  He adores her and always says, "Mama, I feel like I love Auntie Shannon."  I was grateful, as I was not long on patience on this particular day.

There was also some Hay Maze not-so-fun when the Daddies took the big kids to the "Dark Maze" but accidentally went to the "Spooky Maze" ~ important distinction, as there are people dressed up that jump out at you, and all sorts of scary things. When we met up with them Matthew and Andrew were still crying from the experience. :)

Always good to have time with our dear friends.

Pumpkin Hill was new this year and the kids LOVED it....

I don't ever recall such a HOT day at the pumpkin patch. We could have worn shorts!  It's been years since we've had such a stretch of dry, sunny days. We SO needed it and it was not taken for granted!

After I picked up our pumpkins, mums, corn stalks and hay bale (oh and an extra bag of apple cider doughnuts might have found their way home too) we went home hot and tired.  I was wiped out and crashed on the sofa for 2 hours while Dan persevered and took the kids to the school carnival!  (Dad of the year)!

  1. LOVE all the photos!! It was a hot day for sure but looking back at the photos it really was more fun than it felt by the time we left :) Such darling little ones that are growing up so quickly. I cherish these times and trips together. They are wonderful memories the kids will always remember! Thank you friend for a fun day at one of our favorite events of the year!
