First day of school!

The boys were SO excited for the first day of school.
They ran through the front door excited and happy to start their day.
I returned to the van with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.
First grade is a tough one for me.

We celebrated the last night of summer with one of our favorite things.

How special did we feel when we arrived to this Apple themed "Back to School" dinner?



Katie definitely made us feel doted on and spoiled! Down to making me an "apple martini" ~ while everyone else enjoyed a class of wine.

The kids had a great time playing in the backyard while the adults visited until the sun went down.

Day 245/365 ~ 2012

Our first family golf outing!



I thought of my Dad so often on this day.
Memories of hours spent with him on the golf course came flooding back.
He would smile to see his grandchildren at the golf course being introduced to the game he loved so much.  I would have loved to have had him there...giving pointers and cheering on great strokes.



I was quite rusty. My first swing (above) was a terrible slice. But the last (9th) hole I played down the fairway.  I still do so enjoy the game.



We were a little liberal with who drove the golf cart.  The kids' favorite part.

Day 244/365 ~2012

One of Matthew's 4 play dates this week.
Hannah came to play...the kids sprinkled sugar cookies from the grocery store.
An activity they have enjoyed since their were pre-schoolers.
Hannah is so easy to have around ~ She feels like an extension of our family!

Day 243/365 ~ 2012

A positive meeting with Andrew's teacher to get him started to school on the right foot.
Giving the "squishy seat" a thumbs up.
A seat used to help little wigglers in class.
